Biography
S. Wayne Taylor, Jr., MD
Wayne Taylor's practice, Retina Specialist of West Alabama, LLC,
is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he has also choosen to make
his home. He is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist with additional
training and clinical expertise in vitreoretinal surgery. His interest
include all diseases of the retina and vitreous including diabetic
retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and treatment of
ocular trauma.
A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Dr. Taylor graduated Summa Cum
Laude from the University of Alabama in 1986 (Phi Beta Kappa) and
received his medical degree from the University Of Alabama School
of Medicine in 1990 (AOA Honorary).
Dr. Taylor completed a Medical/Surgical Internship at Carraway
Methodist Medical Center, and his Ophthalmology residency at The
Eye Foundation Hospital/University of Alabama at Birmingham Combined
Program in Ophthalmology, serving as Chief Resident his senior year.
He then completed a two year vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at
UAB and The Eye Foundation Hospital.
